Christmas Eve Services

Join us on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 for one of two Christmas Eve Services.

Family Service – 4:00pm
This service could be called “noisy Christmas” because we encourage families to worship with their young children and celebrate Christmas together. The service is planned for all ages, but with little ones in mind. We will sing the songs of Christmas, hear the Christmas story, and end the service with a “candlelight” service with kid-friendly glow sticks.  While we encourage you to have your children in worship, we do offer nursery care for this service.

Candlelight & Communion Service – 6:00pm.
This service is a more traditional Christmas Eve experience. The service is planned for all ages as we sing the songs of Christmas, have a children’s message, hear the Christmas story, share Holy Communion and end the service with a traditional candlelight service. Music will be offered by the Chancel choir as well as others. Nursery will be provided.

For our younger worshipers activity bags are located by the Welcome Center and are filled with crafts, crayons, and coloring books that can be used during the worship service.  Please hang the bags back on the hooks following worship

Offering of Hope this Christmas Eve the offering will be designated for ministry outside of the walls of First UMC.  The offering is divided 50/50 between our ministry with Parkview Elementary School in Clovis NM and a ministry outside of Clovis.
In prior years, our ministry with Parkview has bought new library books, paid for staff appreciation meals, supported the 40 Thanksgiving food boxes our church provides to Parkview, as well as other needs identified by the principal. The other ministries we have supported with the other 1/2 of the Christmas Eve offering are Water 4 to drill water wells, Heifer Project, and other ministries.
